1933–38 primary school (5 years) (Prague)

1938–46 secondary school (8 years) (Prague)

1946 leaving examination (may, Prague), then: Faculty of Natural Sciences, Charles´ University, Prague (mathematics, philosophy of natural sciences), beginning in September (altogether 4 semesters)

1947 Faculty of Philosophy, Charles´ University, Prague (philosophy, sociology, 8 Semesters)

1952 ends his studies (thesis: The Conception of Truth and Some of its Ontological Presuppositions), Doctor of Philosophy

1953–55 military service

1956–68 Documentation and Library Department, Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Prague (since 1957 chief of the department)

1968–70 Institute of Philosophy, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Prague

1971–75 Památník národního písemnictví (Museum of National Literature), working as night watchman
