This text presents a critical analysis of the philosophical conception of reality, which has historically been reduced to the principle of hic et nunc, or here and now. The author points out that the earliest philosophers, most notably the Eleatics, defined the boundaries of reality by considering only that which is present in the current time and space as fully real. This perspective excluded both the past and the future from the realm of true being, a reduction that has fundamentally influenced the entire subsequent philosophical tradition. Within this framework, perfection was equated with immutability and independence, while anything subject to change was relegated to the status of second-order reality or mere appearance. The work explores how these ontological assumptions shaped the understanding of being as a static entity and examines the various philosophical compromises made between this rigid definition and the dynamic nature of the world. The abstract highlights the persistent impact of this reductionist approach on metaphysical reflections concerning time and existence.
