This text provides a critical analysis of determinism, which is predominantly associated with the concept of causality. The author argues that the standard understanding of causality rests on the prejudice that a specific cause leads unambiguously to a specific effect, often implying that the effect is already contained within the cause. Such a conception of the causal relationship suggests that any transformation from cause to effect is merely illusory, as the end result is fundamentally identical to the beginning. Consequently, this view implies that nothing truly new occurs and that all change is merely an appearance of movement. Even when a distinction between cause and effect is acknowledged to allow for causal chains, the principle that a single cause must result in only one possible effect remains. The text challenges this mechanistic worldview, which, through the lens of nihil novi sub sole, reduces the dynamics of reality to the persistence of the same, effectively denying the possibility of authentic becoming and genuine novelty.

Determinismus – kritika
