This text examines the fundamental problems of ontology when "being" is interpreted strictly as "actually being" in the present moment. The author argues that such a definition creates significant difficulties in perceiving a "whole in time"—a true event—as a being. Since an event cannot be reduced to a single instant of actuality, and its past or future components are not currently present, traditional ontology often abstracts away from the active process of timing. Instead, it replaces the continuous flow of events with a series of discrete "time-points." The text asserts that such an ontology is fundamentally flawed, as it ignores the intrinsic temporal nature of beings, leading to broader philosophical errors. By following this reductive path, which resembles the Eleatic denial of change, we lose the ability to grasp the reality of becoming. The abstract emphasizes the need for an ontological framework that accounts for the continuity of events rather than fragmenting them into static points, which contradicts our fundamental experience of reality and duration.

Ontologie a jsoucí
