This text explores the relationship between philosophy and the concept of Being, taking Karl Jaspers' definition of philosophy as the thinking assurance of authentic Being as its starting point. The author argues that a primary task of philosophy is the rigorous distinction between true and untrue beings. This distinction is inherently problematic, as it involves determining the criteria for what constitutes a 'true being' worthy of the attribution of 'Being.' Philosophy, therefore, is an ongoing process of identifying and re-confirming what possesses genuine reality. Such reality is characterized by an internal unity that holds an entity together, distinguishing it from a mere heap or aggregate. Only this unified, authentic reality can be said to truly 'be' or possess Being. The reflection concludes that philosophy is uniquely positioned to address these ontologically fundamental questions, serving as the discipline that continuously seeks to grasp the essence of existence and the nature of true reality through intellectual inquiry.

Bytí a filosofie / Filosofie a bytí
