This text offers a critical examination of the concept of emergence as defined in systems theory and philosophy, where complex patterns arise from simple interactions. The author argues that emergence is often treated as a mere impression of an external observer, overlooking the fundamental distinction between quantitative accumulation and integrated complexity. A central point of the inquiry is the relationship between emergence and activity. The text questions whether the increase in complexity can be solely attributed to "simple interactions" or if it necessitates an active agent (agens). By refining the definition of interaction as an active cooperation between participants, the author explores whether the driving force of emergence originates within the system or from an external source. Ultimately, this philosophical reflection challenges the conventional understanding of complexity by emphasizing the role of agency and the specific performance of activities in the emergence of more highly integrated systems.

Emergence složitosti
Ve Wikipedii čteme: „In philosophy, systems theory and science, emergence is the way complex systems and patterns arise out of a multiplicity of relatively simple interactions. Emergence is central to the theories of integrative levels and of complex systems.“ Z formulace je zřejmé, že jde o „dojem“ vnějšího pozorovatele (a pojmenování a popis tohoto dojmu), tedy nejen o hledisko „odborné“ disciplíny.
