This text reflects on the meaning and role of the teacher within higher education, specifically focusing on the teaching of philosophy. It starts from Friedrich Nietzsche’s critique of education that turns gifted young people into mere copies of their instructors. The author questions the common practice where students become a faithful image of their mentors, asking whether such an approach is truly desirable. The central theme is the search for the true mission of a pedagogue, who should not strive to replicate their own views but should function primarily as an inspirer. The teacher's goal should be to encourage students toward authenticity and to help them discover their own unique path. Although this path is difficult to navigate without guidance, the ultimate purpose of pedagogical influence is to enable the student to become themselves, rather than a mere reflection of their mentor. This shift from imitation to inspiration is the core of this reflection on contemporary university education.

Učitel a žáci
Nechme stranou základní školy, a nechme zatím stranou i gymnázia (a neuniverzitní vysoké školy).
