The text reflects on the transformation of the concept "arché" (beginning) throughout the history of philosophy and mythical thought. Traditionally, the beginning was perceived as a foundation that precedes entities in time and persists as their basis or ruling principle. However, the author proposes a radical reassessment of this concept. Instead of searching for arché in the past, it must be situated in the future. This shift in perspective requires a revision of our view of temporality: the future must not be understood as an empty or undescribed sphere, nor as a space where something already "is" in an actual sense. The true arché lies in what is to come, without yet being realized. The article thus opens space for a new ontology of time that breaks away from archaic etymological connotations of dominance and the past, moving towards understanding the beginning as an open yet determining dimension of future events, thereby problematizing common understandings of actuality and potentiality within the philosophical tradition.

ARCHÉ a čas
