This reflection addresses the necessity of reinterpreting the so-called ontological difference, primarily in opposition to traditional metaphysics, which erroneously conceived of being as the highest entity with a timeless character. Drawing on Heidegger's pivotal contribution, the text emphasizes that being must not be understood as an entity. Following this premise consistently leads to the realization of the close connection between being and time, particularly the dimension of the future. The author rejects the notion of being as a general quality or a shared trait in which all entities participate. Instead, being is viewed as a principle that constitutes and enables the "beingness" of specific entities by temporarily lending or entrusting it to them. This "beingness" never becomes the permanent possession of an entity, nor does it become an internal component or inherent part. Thus, the ontological difference reveals itself as a dynamic relationship between a temporally anchored origin and the transient existence of particular things, necessitating a fundamental transformation of our understanding of ontology beyond the limits of traditional substantialist thought.
