The text analyzes the ontological position of man as a subject and ex-sistence. The author defines man as ex-sistence, which is essentially non-being, since as a subject, man is not an objective entity. This ex-sistence is characterized by leaning into the future, the realm of the non-existent. Unlike a work of art, which requires an external observer for actualization, the subject is the active realizer of their man. The text distinguishes between the mere living of a biological being and the experiencing of life inherent to the subject. Although subjectivity belongs to life, experiencing requires an active subject who stands outside life processes and is not their product. Consciousness of ex-sistence is thus fundamentally different from the consciousness of objects. In this view, man is a dynamic tension between biological life and the non-being subject who consciously experiences and transcends it. This distinction highlights the uniqueness of human consciousness and its independence from biological progression.
