This text examines the historical transformation of the philosophical understanding of the origin, tracing it from the ancient Greek concept of ARCHÉ to the modern notion of the Subject. Early Greek philosophers defined ARCHÉ as an objective foundation, a trajectory that culminated in Parmenides' conception of an immobile and absolute unity. However, this approach transformed the origin into a static, lifeless object. A fundamental shift occurred with German Romantic philosophy, which emphasized the importance of the Subject over the object. The author notes that this Subject is not synonymous with mere subjectivity or whim, but functions as an integrating principle of reality. As a result of this shift, the world is no longer perceived as a mere collection of isolated objects; instead, the question of unification and the internal interconnectedness of the whole comes to the fore. The study demonstrates that the wholeness and unity of the world are no longer taken for granted but have become complex themes requiring deeper investigation into the relationships between individual parts and the world as a whole.

Netrvalo dlouho a Parmenidés vyvodil z myšlení ARCHÉ radikální závěr: odmítl možnost plurality i změny či pohybu a postuloval ARCHÉ jakožto jedno a zároveň veškero (HEN KAI PAN).
