This text explores the philosophical definition of the concept of an "event," emphasizing its understanding as a specific "non-object." Drawing on Aristotelian tradition, the author seeks to clarify the nature of an event through a method of negative definition—modeling what an event is not in order to reveal its essence. A central distinction is made between an event and a mere "pile in motion." While an event is characterized by its internal dimension, integrity, and inherent interconnectedness, a pile in motion represents a purely mechanical transformation of a configuration of elements. In such a cluster, individual parts lack mutual communication, moving independently and without any shared goal or interest in the resulting effect. Thus, an event is established through its internal unity and involvement in an outcome, fundamentally distinguishing it from the mere disinterested movement of elements in space. The analysis underscores the need to view an event as a complex process that transcends simple material objectivity, requiring recognition of its specific ontological nature based on internal communication and the meaningful direction of the whole.

Když tedy odebereme to, co zakládá a udržuje integritu události, tedy její niternou stránku, zbývá nám hromada („věc“) v pohybu.
