This text offers a critical reflection on Heidegger's concept of "Being-towards-death" (Sein-zum-Tode). While the author appreciates Heidegger's emphasis on temporality and the orientation of human being toward the future, he fundamentally disagrees with the interpretation of death as total nothingness. The text argues that death should not be perceived as a goal or the definitive end of the future's arrival, but rather as a means or a transitional point. Instead of focusing on extinction, the author proposes the concept of "Being-towards-life." This mode of being does not relate solely to one's own existence but transcends it toward life in its entirety. It encompasses a concern for the continuation of life through descendants, other people, and all living beings. The essence of being is thus seen as an active movement toward sustaining and evolving life, which persists beyond an individual's physical death. In this view, death is a mediating element within a broader process rather than its absolute boundary, radically shifting the perspective on human existence in the world.
