This text offers a critical analysis of Hegel’s conception of negativity and non-objectivity as presented in the preface to his seminal work, the Phenomenology of Spirit. Hegel interprets unreality and non-being as the "tremendous power of the negative," essentially identifying it with death. He defines the life of the spirit by its capacity to look this death in the face and dwell within the negative, a process through which negativity is transformed into being via subjectivity. However, the author identifies a fundamental and essential flaw in this dialectical approach. He criticizes Hegel’s tendency to perceive "unreality itself" as an external threat or a void against which the subject must actively position itself and maintain its integrity through resistance or internal revolt. According to the author, this conception unjustifiably reduces negativity to a mere negation of being, thereby distorting the subject’s relationship to the non-objective aspects of reality and creating a conflict between spirit and nothingness. The reflection thus calls for a reassessment of the nature of non-being outside the framework of the traditional Hegelian struggle with the negative.

2098, str. 68-69) odloučenost (u Patočky odloučení) pojmenuje jako „neskutečno samo“, a když mluví o „nesmírné moci záporna“, a když onu neskutečnost nazývá „smrtí“.
