This text explores the philosophical distinction between the concepts of being and reality. The author defines being as something characterized by internal integration and wholeness. In contrast, reality encompasses even those things that lack such internal unity. Using the example of a trio of fruit trees or a forest, the text illustrates that while individual trees are considered beings, their collective existence or the world itself is real without necessarily being a single being. The author argues that a collection of individual beings is never a mere heap, as they form relationships even if these connections do not result in a unified whole. Consequently, reality can retain qualities of inwardness and non-objectivity without forming a strict ontological unity. The reflection suggests that the world should be understood as a complex reality where the interactions between autonomous beings are essential, yet do not merge them into a singular integrated entity, thus preserving the distinction between the whole and the sum of its parts.

Jsoucno a skutečnost
