This text explores the ontological status of "possibility" and the conditions for its realization, often referred to as a "chance." The author examines the paradoxical nature of possibilities, which seem to exist in a state between being and non-being. Once a possibility is realized, it ceases to be a possibility; conversely, if it cannot be realized under given circumstances (rebus sic stantibus), it becomes a relative unreality. The text further distinguishes between genuine possibilities and pseudo-possibilities that cannot be realized under any conditions. A central question concerns the circumstances under which a possibility becomes reality—whether this occurs necessarily when all conditions are met or requires the intervention of an agent. A significant portion of the reflection is dedicated to the role of human thought. The author asks whether identifying and thinking about a possibility constitutes the first step toward its realization and what the specific function of thinking is in transforming the potential into the actual. The study provides a profound philosophical insight into modality and the ontology of future events.

„dát šanci“ a tzv. „možnost“ / Možnost a „šance“ uskutečnění / Možnost a „šance“ uskutečnění
Není to už první krok k jejímu uskutečnění?
