This text examines the ontological structure of an event, conceptualized as an integral and complete whole. The author argues that an event is real only in its entirety, meaning its past and future are essential components of its being, even if they are not currently actual. A crucial distinction is made between actual existence and those realities that belong to the event’s own past or future, as opposed to external realities linked to the event only through human interpretation and cognition. The reflection warns against conflating the event’s internal reactions with the theoretical constructs and mental models we create to grasp reality, such as explaining phenomena through gravity. Ultimately, the text highlights the necessity of distinguishing between what truly 'is' and the intellectual frameworks we must construct to perceive the world in its broader context, ensuring that our search for overall meaning does not obscure the authentic, inherent structure of reality.
