This text provides a critical reflection on Henri Bergson's concept of "change," which he interprets as an indivisible flux and a continuous transition. Bergson argues that any division of this change into discrete states is artificial and distorts its true nature, which he defines as an uninterrupted thrust and an infinitely extending duration. However, the author of the document identifies fundamental flaws in Bergson's approach. The main objection is directed at the assumption that world events constitute a single, uninterrupted process without a clear beginning or end. According to this critique, Bergson considers only one type of change and wrongly regards its multiplicity and discontinuity as merely a result of the human tendency to fragment reality. The text emphasizes that within the world process, one cannot ignore the existence of real beginnings and endings, which are not merely apparent but are essential components of the character of events. Overall, the work offers a brief philosophical opposition to Bergson's ontology of duration and motion.
