This text explores the nature of beginnings and their perceived power over future development. The author challenges the notion that everything essential is decided at the very start of a process. While beginnings are difficult and significant, they are not definitive; errors or incorrect decisions made at the outset can be corrected with the investment of effort and time. The text further reflects on Martin Heidegger's perspective, which emphasizes the necessity of acknowledging the Greek origin of philosophy as its defining beginning and "standing under its power." However, the author argues that awareness of this beginning should not imply the absolute determination of future thought. Philosophy can distance itself from its roots and seek new, distinct paths. A beginning should therefore be understood as an important starting point and a call to remembrance, rather than an unchangeable destiny that forever precludes innovation or a change in the direction and method of philosophizing.
