This text analyzes the nature of a word in terms of its meaning and communication. The author asserts that a cluster of sounds or letters becomes a word only through its connection to a specific meaning, which is not an objective state but a dynamic process arising during practical language use. A central element is the active role of the recipient, who must personally attribute meaning to perceived stimuli based on their knowledge of linguistic conventions. The document emphasizes that understanding is not mere decoding but an active attribution of sense rooted in cultural and linguistic habits. Meaning, therefore, does not exist independently of the speaker and listener but is constantly constituted within their interaction. This work challenges a static understanding of linguistic signs and highlights the pragmatic and subjective dimensions of speech. The process of comprehension is viewed as a creative synthesis of perceived signs and learned semantic patterns, enabling successful interpersonal communication and information sharing within a given community.
