The text examines the nature of the intentional relationship, suggesting it extends beyond the link between concepts and the conceived to include the relationship between the act of imagining and the imagined object. The author defines imagination as an active process of "positing before" oneself something that becomes the "imagined." This imagined entity is neither a constituent part of the mental act itself nor can it be equated with the "thing-in-itself." Consequently, the central inquiry focuses on the ontological status of the imagined as a result of the imaginative activity. The text calls for a rigorous investigation into the distinctions between the imagined representation, the actual object, and the active process of consciousness. This ontological difficulty is presented as a fundamental problem that must be directly addressed rather than dismissed. The analysis aims to clarify the phenomenological boundaries between subject and object, highlighting that the imagined result exists in a unique space that is separate from the act that produced it.

Představa a představované
Avšak o to právě jde, tuto nesnáz nestrčit pod koberec.
