This text offers a critical examination of Martin Heidegger’s endeavor to return to the origins of philosophical thought, a stance the author identifies as his metaphysical basic position. Although Heidegger attempts to grasp these origins as a means to restore initial and original thinking, the author argues that this project is fundamentally problematic from a philosophical perspective. By seeking the original within that which is already given and present, Heidegger remains confined within the metaphysical epoch he seeks to transcend. The text suggests that this orientation toward the past and the pre-existing prevents the possibility of truly new thought. Ultimately, Heidegger’s quest results in a regression into a mythical relationship with reality, the world, and the self. While this myth is philosophically rationalized, it is never truly overcome or cleared away. Thus, despite its practical insights, Heidegger’s approach fails to achieve the radical departure it claims, instead falling back into pre-philosophical patterns of relating to existence rather than genuinely transcending them.
